how many uninformed kids voted for him just because he's african american, because it's the popular choice, because their favorite pop stars endorse him...without understanding the issues or his platform?

I reminisce on the days where asking someone who you voted for was like asking a lady how old she was. It was sort of a taboo question. So I prefer not to say.

this election wasn't about race, Obama never made it about race, the voters didn't so we shouldn't. look at the poll statistics and you will see that he one every demographic. and more white people voted for him than Kerry 4 yrs ago. 78% of the country voted more democratic than 4 yrs ago. that amounts to a cultural shift.

DNR--Obama's entire campaign was run on transcending race. I believe there are groups of people on both sides who make uninformed decisions, simply because most of their family & friends influence them. But Obama put together a clear platform & vision and actually received a larger percentage of the white vote than Kerry, Gore and got the same amount as Clinton (CNN). Some people who made superficial decisions also because Obama ran an inspiring campaign based off hope, not the fear & anger of the McCain campaign.
